As I previously talked about, I'm a cybersecurity student and did some CTF's when I had time. I used a kali linux image as my operating system to do the CTF's, this machine we call "Lab". I have always felt like I needed a machine that is just mine with an unusual look. So after a lot of tests with some distros i finally ended up with Parrot OS.

It has a good community behind it, it has all the tools I need a good focus on security and privacy.

So I downloaded the Home Edition image of Parrot OS because I didn't want all the tools that come with Parrot OS Security Edition.

The next thing I did was create a list of tools I needed to rice my OS and here is the list:

  • Desktop Environment: Gnome

  • Window Manager: i3

  • Notification bar: polybar

  • Wallpaper engine: nitrogen

  • Wallpaper:

  • shell: zsh
